Re: “Nuclear Negroes” (May 7, 2012)

I’ve been at a serious loss for words regarding the highly offensive nature of “Nuclear Negroes” but as I now formulate a response, one word would be “incredulous.”  In 2012, one would hope that you were more in tune with the incorrectness (political, racial, cultural or historical) of the term “Negro”!  Five centuries ago it was phased out of use, but you even saw fit to feature the epithet on the cover!
The “Negro” was the stereotypical creation of racist Euro-American journalists, orators and cartoonists, a caricature invented for the consumption of an equally racist public via theatre, cinema and the press.  It was a reflection of the fear and contempt held in the hearts of a hateful society, depicting the African as inherently inferior and worthy of scorn.  The name itself disconnected him from his history and culture.  Negroes were head-scratching, subservient circus performers and collaborators in their own demise.  Any conscious African would eschew the term, as they would the other “N-word”.
We found little that was funny in the column, but much that was disgraceful.  Racism is an ugly and growing blight on the Israeli landscape, one that you have greatly contributed to.  Your insensitivity is a reflection of the increasingly prevalent fear and contempt of Africans here (whether Jewish or refugees).  Sure, you can deflect some criticism by holding Mr. Freeman to blame or invoking comic license.
But African Americans – inclusive of Mr. “free man” (how ironic, or is that his stage name?) – needn’t wait ‘til the end of the world to be the “hardest hit”.  Even under their first Black President, African Americans are already at the very bottom of America’s deepening socio-economic abyss.  Not much to laugh about there.
As for poking fun at the specter of a nuclear confrontation in the region, I again fail to see the humor.  In the face of global warming, economic meltdowns, the rise of obesity and other ongoing disasters, is this the best you can do?!  Don’t get me wrong, a little tasteful humor has its place.  But “Mega-Darkies”?!  We already “hear the hearts of all other human beings”… and they are saying that they expect Israel to be a redemptive force – “a light unto the nations.”  We in Dimona are already “glowing”! –

To the African Hebrew Israelite nation of “Dimona Israel” first and foremost all praises are due to ALMIGHTY GOD, The Most High, our Father in Heaven. I would just like to say that I am so proud and overly filled with joy of the divine blessings that have come upon the African Hebrew Israelite nation there in “Dimona Israel” of which the nation has displayed so spiritually. Ben Ammi has proven emphatically to be a man of the Most High God, Lord of Host. His divine and spiritual leadership has inspired me to change my Euro-gentile name and my son name to that of a Hebrew nationalistic remembrance. If it is GOD’S will me and my son’s will some day return to the land of our forefathers Abraham, Isaac, Yacob.
    Love Peace and Joy………….Shalom

i Have a intrest of being a Hebrew israelite to defend my sides of the Biblical stories i have debated with my Brother.Last weekend my brother and i had a unusual debation behind The Creation of the bible.
1.) Debation on where the bible came from
2.) Debation on the Hebrew text translation to English
3.) Why to Believe the bible if the white man tampered with English translation ( meaning that the hole bible could be messed over)’
    4.) who Wrote the Bible
5.) why Beleive if u wasnt there meaning that man could of just put anything.

And then my brother says i still Believe in God. And i say, why would u beleive in God? and not the Bible? because if it wasnt for the Bible you would never know who God was, so what u saying? God isn’t Real?
Then he says it probly Could be.
And i say you are lost in the Dark, if not the book weres the road to life how could we understand it, and Die and just to be another body Gone, death is hovering over you if you don’t know God.

But all im saying is, do any one have any good Examples of those five things i can set? to clear my brother, and bring him forth the kingdom of God? i have alot of Knowlege of the Bible i just need to use someones point of View, Discussing this to Him befor he suffers famine. please?

Assalam Aleikum: I am a Muslim. I enjoy reading your website and on occasion, I eat at the 2 Soul Vegetarian Restaurants located in Atlanta Georgia. I am also Vegetarian/vegan. I highly respect the African Hebrew community. I like your economic approach to helping the Black race. You folks are doing something right: Your are the most healthy Blacks in the world, no crime in your community, highly cultured group, and most of all righteous living! Ma-Salam.
