The Holy Day, Sabatone Zicrone Thruah

The Holy Day, Sabatone Zicrone Thruah will be observed on September 17, 2012 (Beginning from the setting of the sun on September 16, 2012)

*Shabbatone Zecron Thruah, The Sabbatical Memorial of the Thruah is found in the book of Leviticus 23: 23-25. The importance of the Thruah is so great that the Creator commanded that the House of Israel take a Sabbath, which comes from the Hebrew word (leesh -boht), meaning they had to cease/stop their regular daily activities such as work, recreation, shopping, etc., and remember its significance in their lives.

Each of the feasts that are listed in verses 23-44 (The Sabbatical Memorial of the Thruah/The Memorial Blowing of Trumpets, Day of Atonement, and the Feast of Tabernacles) are Sabbaths that require each soul to stop/cease pondering mundane circumstances and situations, petty thoughts and feelings regarding trivial matters and engage in a serious level of introspection, retrospection, reflection and contemplation of the spirit or reason for the life experiences they were having and the lessons to be learned from them.

Introspection: 1. observation or examination of one’s mental and emotional state, mental processes, etc; act of looking within oneself. 2. the quality, tendency, or disposition to do this.

Retrospection: 1. the action, process, or faculty of looking back on things past. 2. a survey of past events or experiences.

Reflection: 3. a fixing of the thoughts on something; care consideration.

Contemplate: 1. to look at or view with continued attention; observe thoughtfully. 2. to consider thoroughly; think fully or deeply about. 5. to think studiously; meditate; consider deliberately.

The Hebrew word thruah is very important. Therein we find the word for Shepard which is roh-eh and the root word for alarm, shout, or tumult which is roo-ah. Certainly, we would have to ask ourselves the question, what could possibly be the connection and the the relationship between Shepard, shout, alarm, and tumult? Ben Ammi in his writing “Resurrection: From Judgment to Post Judgment,” reveals to us a significant point:

”Without invocation there is no motivation to save. There will definitely have to be an impelling cause, coupled with your earnest solicitation and supporting, distinguishing behavior.” - The Resurrection, Ben Ammi, pg.213

To invoke is to call with earnest desire, to sound an alarm for aid or help. A genuine, heart-felt invocation is an impelling cause, which means it can be a leading or a driving energy. In Leviticus 23: 25, the God of Israel commanded his people to offer “an offering made by fire which can be interpreted as words from the mouth being in unison with the heart. The heart is spiritually and physically the pivotal or local point of life energy. Some may refer to it as the altar of God.

In actuality, the fire is the passion that is expressed in the offering. Maybe, if we take another look at the word thruah, the root roo-ah, and add the term “passion” it will give us some insight to the connection and the relationship. Righteous heart-felt passionate words in unison with righteous heart felt passionate behavior activates this gift, the thruah, which is a compelling force that sets into motion the Holy Spirit/Creative Energy.

And when the voice of the trumpet sounded long, and waxed louder and louder Moses spoke and God answered him by a voice. - Exodus 19: 19

The sho-far/trumpet on Mt. Sinai sounded long and waxed louder and louder exemplifies how our commitment to this idea must persevere and become stronger and stronger so that We will be transformed to hear the word of Yah/voice of Yah when it is spoken to guide and direct us at all times.
