The Holy Days of Yah and the Changing of Times and Laws

In assessing the subtle and crafty way in which the adversaries of God changed, distorted and perpetuated one of the most evil schemes of the known civilized world, we can surely understand why Ben Ammi, the author of God the Black Man and Truth stated, “the entire world is rotating on the axis of a lie.” In assessing the question of how civilization came to be put in the present cycles of time, we must search and research history in the time of the ancients to understand the dynamics of why the original cycles of set times and seasons were perverted from a Godly perspective to a paganistic practice that was first incorporated in the ancient Kingdom of Babylon under Nimrod, great grandson of Noah. We see a gradual changing as each of the original cycles was subtly changed to meet the social demands of an idolatrous and paganistic society. However, there is even a more sinister reason for these manifestations.

If we take a serious look at the book of Genesis, we can see that the original cycles of time ordained by the Creator are clearly illustrated. It is an absolute that the cycles of the creation is what set the earth, man and all therein on a course of righteousness that was made manifest in the dispensation of innocence that was incorporated in the Edenic Covenant. With the introduction of the changes, another spiritual force was vying for dominance of the creations of God by usurping the minds of men, inclusive of their understanding wherein the original laws concerning the cycles, set times, and seasons would forever be changed until, they along with the creations, would not be recognizable by the Creator of heaven and earth. As a result of this pernicious act, the God of Creation has until this day and time rejected man and his society. The Hebrew Israelite Community, as well as the world at large has suffered greatly because of the arrogance of totally godless people. This has actually caused the people as well as the creations to be totally out of cycle with the Creator God. We must seek avenues to redefine this most serious situation by re-introducing the original understanding concerning the true cycles that God intended for all of creation to live by.

And he shall speak great words against the Most High, and think to wear out the saints of the Most High, and think to change the times and the laws; and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.” -Daniel 7:25

In a prime example of the altering of the Holy cycles of God, the days of the week will be put under scrutiny. In the book of Genesis, God gave ordinal numbers to each day, examples of which are, the First Day, the Second Day, etc… on to the Seventh and final day, the Sabbath, a day designated by God for rest. The use of these names gives praise and honor unto the God of all Creation. However, in this day and time another definition through the power of renaming these Divine days has totally put humanity in another cycle all together. By renaming the “first day” as Sunday, the paganistic societies were able to worship the Sun God. Likewise the “second day” was renamed Monday which was a day for worship for the moon. The “third day” was renamed Tuesday which was a pagan day of worship of the planet Mars. The “fourth day” was renamed Wednesday, a heathen day of worship of the pagan god Mercury. “The fifth day” was renamed Thursday, a pagan day of worship of the planet or pagan god Jupiter (Thor). The “sixth day,” Friday was in honor of Friggs, Scandinavian goddess, wife of Odin and goddess of marriage, love and the heart. The “seventh day” Saturday was a heathen day of worship of the pagan God or planet Saturn. In redefining the days of the week using the substitution of names as the means, the once Holy cycles set by God almighty fell to a perverted and very base understanding. It was because of this act that the societies from that time until the present knowingly or unknowingly paid homage to the many paganistic gods that originated from the times of antiquity. Likewise, in investigating the origin of the beginning of the week, the adversary in redefining the whole creative act began to state that the beginning of the day was with the rising of the sun. But in the book of Genesis 1:5 it clearly states that the evening of one day through the evening of the following day is the cycle instituted by God that governs the cycle of one day. So in following the original plan of God we were in a perfect cycle of obedience concerning the complete cycle of the week. The beginning of the week starts sundown the seventh day, “Saturday” not the morning of the first day, “Sunday.”

The month of January was named after the Roman god Janus, whose name means “two-faced” or “double faced.” Janus was supposedly able to see in front of and behind himself at the same time.

The month of February was named in honor of the Roman pagan goddess Februa. The Roman Catholic Church adopted the day of the purification of Mary and in using December 25th as a starting point, February 2nd became the honored day in which she was considered clean, purified.

These are but two examples of the renaming of the months from Hebrew to Latin, which changed totally the original meaning and purpose that God intended.

In taking a very serious look at what is now considered very controversial, that being the worshipping of the Sabbath day. In the beginning this great day of worship was originally designated for the seventh day. But at a specific point it was changed to the first day “Sunday.” It was no coincidence that this particular day was chosen because it was that day that the pagans worshipped the Sun god. In researching history, we find that Constantine, who publicly converted to Christianity, but in secret never stopped worshipping the Sun god, enacted in the year 321 A.D., the first Sunday Law. The ninth edition Encyclopedia Britannica, quotes “The earliest recognition of the observation of Sunday as a legal duty is a constitution of Constantine in 321 A.D. enacting that all courts of justice, inhabitants of towns, and workshops were to be at rest on Sunday (venerabili die solis) with an exception in favor of those engaged in agricultural labor.” These statements can be verified also in the following references, History of the Christian Church, vol. 3, ch. 7, section 75, pg. 380, footnote 1. Also in The Prophetic Faith of Our Fathers, Review and Herald Publishing Association, 1950, vol. 1, pg. 376-381.

Some extreme suspicions arise when considering the fact that until that point, a day of Godly observance was committed to the seventh day “Saturday.” In looking at that time of the ancients two glaring acts are well known by scholars and some laymen alike, that is the empire of Constantine, the Byzantian Empire was paganistic and idolatrous, that merged the concepts of early Christianity with their paganistic beliefs.“One of the most profound undertakings of the Euro-gentiles is what I term the Great Religious Conspiracy. The Euro-gentiles have deceived the whole world, causing it to honor and worship false gods and idols, while at the same time giving the impression of their superior intelligence and culture; wherein, no one would believe that they are pagans, still honoring the false gods of their fathers. No race of people has so negatively altered the laws, seasons and purpose of God’s creation as have the Euro-gentiles…” extracted from God the Black Man and Truth, The Making of a Slave or Soul Transformation, pg141, Ben Ammi.

The Catholic Cardinal Gibbons, in “Faith of Our Fathers, pg. 111 said, “You may read the Bible from Genesis to Revelation and you will not find a single line authorizing the sanctification of Sunday. The scriptures enforce the religious observance of Saturday, a day which we never sanctify.”

The following are Holy Days Sanctified by the Holy One of Israel and their historical roots:

Memorial Blowing of the Trumpets (Shabbtone ZeKrone Thruah): A day of rememberance and signals the coming of the highest Holy Day in the Hebrew Calendar. Trumpets are synonomous with instructions from Yah and/or anointed leadership; this is a season for hearing the word of Yah. (Leviticus 23:23-24)

The Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur): It was a day of reconciliation; the word atonement means to be in a harmonious relationship, to be one with, or to reconcile. In the Hebrew tradition of atonement, the entire people through certain rites seek to repent and reconcile themselves to God. The process of atonement remains unchanged in the Ashanti people, who have observed and practiced this rite traditionally in the same season and for the same reasons as the Israelites did according to Hebrew tradition. Leviticus 7:7. The Day of Atonement is the highest of the Holy Days in the Hebrew tradition.

The Feast of the Tabernacles (Sukkhote): This celebration held a prominent place among Israelite festivals. The fact that it was agricultural in origin is evident from the name “Feast of the Ingathering,” from the ceremonies accompanying it and from the season and occasion of the celebration (“at the end of the year when thou gatherest in their labors out of the field.”) The Ashanti Afahye Festival has many parallels to the Hebrew Feast of Tabernacles. The drumming, horn-blowing, singing, dancing, the smearing of blood on special stools (comparable to the altar on which the Hebrew priest sprinkled blood) are all similar. The Ashanti brought new yams and other gifts to the King. This annual festival is held in connection with the eating of the food from the first crop. Leviticus 23:34.

This reference relates to the Feast of the Tabernacles, and African/Edenic Holy Day celebrated throughout their generations. It is recognized by African Hebrews on the continent and can be found in this account: the same author who translates the word Afahye (Ashanti) “as an appointed festival” goes on to describe the ceremony as he witnessed it towards the end of October in 1921, the Ashanti New Year beginning on the last day of that month. The entire cultural function is remarkable, suggestive of the old Hebrew Feast of Ingathering, which is also known as the Feast of Tabernacles, or simply the Feast (Leviticus 23:34). Nehemiah 8:14.

Hebraic New Year (Shanah Tovah): The beginning of the year is not in the dead of winter as with Julian calendar. The Hebraic New Year marks the beginning of Spring (Aviv); the first month of the Hebraic Calendar. (Exodus 12:2)

Passover (Pessach): The High Holy Day of the African Hebrew Israelites commemorates the exodus of the children of Israel from Egypt, after four hundred years of captivity. When Pharaoh repeatedly refused to let the children of Israel go, plagues were laced upon him and all of Egypt. The last plague issued was the killing of the Egyptian first-born. The Children of Israel marked their door posts with lamb’s blood so that the Death Angel would pass over them, and not claim the first-born. After the first Passover, the children of Israel were freed from Egypt. Passover is still practiced in Africa today by the Falashas of Ethiopia. They consider themselves Biet Israel (House of Israel), direct descendants of King Solomon and the Queen of Sheba. On Passover, the high priests of the Falasha continue to follow the law prescribed in Exodus, to sacrifice the lamb on the alter at sunset in the synagogue courtyard, sprinkling the animal’s blood around the entrance of the building. Passover is called the “Freedom Festival” by these African/Edenic people. It is the most meaningful of all festivals for the Falashas, who feel that they are slaves in Ethiopia and are awaiting the divine intervention that will take them to the land of Israel. (Leviticus 23:5.)

Feast of Unleaven Bread: This a seven period in which no food items containing leavening are consumed and they are removed from the household. This is a custom that signifies the removal of leaven from the hearts of the Sons and Daughters of Yah which causes them to be puffed up or arrogant. (Leviticus 23:6)

Day of Appreciation (Yom L’Mokareem): This day was proclaimed that we show forth acts of appreciation and gratitude toward each other through the giving of handmade gifts.

New World Passover: This commemorates the return of the Hebrew Israelite Community back into the Holy Land from the shores of the great captivity, America. This festive event is a joyous occasion of great celebration and reunion.

Ha Omer -A fifty day period of great thanksgiving to the Holy One of Israel for the First Fruits (Anointed Leadership) and the land. (Leviticus 23:15)

Feast of Weeks (Shavuote) or First Fruits: When the ancient African/Edenic Hebrews harvested their first crops of the season, the first fruits of that harvest were sacrificed to God. Also, during this season the African Hebrew Israelites of Jerusalem hold a traditional celebration, Dance for the Land. This is an African/Edenic practice even to this day among such tribes as the Akamba and Gekuyu of East Africa. (Leviticus 23:10).

The Sabbath, the Hebrew Day of Rest: In accordance with Hebrew Laws, no work is to be done on this day. The observance of the Sabbath is practiced among the Falashas of Ethiopia. In the Ethiopian language, Amharic, the Sabbath is known as Senbet. The Falashas commence preparing for the Senbet on Friday afternoon by washing their bodies and clothes in a nearby river. They prepare beer, grind grains, bake bread and draw water from the river to last two days. The men likewise cease to work at midday, wash and prepare themselves for Senbet. There are no fires; no water drawn from the river, no work of any kind is done on the Sabbath. Everyone greets one another with the salutations “Sanbe Salam” or “Sanbat Salom”, which correlate in Hebrew to “Sabbaht Shalom” meaning “Sabbath Peace”. Leviticus 23:32.

There is indeed a famine of the Word of Yah in America which makes one searching to connect to the true worship of Yah alienated! I am also interested in the online bible studies; I know of no classes being held for miles and miles…Thank you again, Shalom!
