
The harvest began to flow in at the start of April 2020, in the midst of the dreaded COVID – 19 pandemic. Fresh, organic greens destined to boost our nutrition and immunity, and delight our taste buds were being harvested in Israel. This bountiful harvest was the result of compassion, conviction, vision, investment, work and perseverance.
Ayleenaton Ben Israel and Ben Immanuel Ben Naseek Immanuel have always been in their element when they are in the fields growing food. They are both committed to growing organic food for the African Hebrew Israelites of Jerusalem and beyond, inspired by the vision of our eternal leader, Ben Ammi, and the establishment of the Ministry of Divine Agriculture.
Commitment In Action
They were committed enough to finance an effort to farm a field in Moshav Nevatim, (a moshav between Dimona and Beershevah in Israel) in the spirit of and with the blessing of the Minister of Divine Agriculture, Naseek Yadiel Ben Yehudah.
So. while Naseek Yadiel has been investing time, energy and spirit planting in Ghana, developing the Restoration Village – (Ben Ammi’s visionary call for a return to sanity and the sensible and sustainable development of rural areas in Africa) - these dedicated Brothers have been the organic growing force here in Israel.
Their hard work and commitment inspired more Brothers to join in; like Yaasav ben Yideediel, who worked in the fields and also invested financially, along with various other Brothers who pitched in at different stages of the growing process; Ahvishai, Amior, Riuel, Yishikai, Ahvraham, Tseone, Yorai, Aveeazar, El Yacove, Noahk, Khaziael, Ben Elihu, Amishar, Eliyameen, and Shimone.
Ayleenaton has also infused his passion into his children, Yoshavyah, Rahkameem, Aylinatan Katan and Nafshanee, who all work in the fields with him as well. Several other inspired youth also helped out in the fields; El Gonane Ben Sar Horahliel, Yasheemah Ben Ben Ammi, Yahnatan Ben Atur Moriel, Shaleahk and Shavel Benay Yoahk, Desahtyah Baht N. Immanuel and BarKhai Ben Yimooel.
The Bountiful Harvest
All the first fruits of the fields were given to the Prophetic Priesthood, as is customary in Hebrew culture as an offering of thanksgiving and praise. The harvest arrives right in time for the season of Passover and the Wave Offering beginning the Counting of the Omer which leads to Shavuote, a Hebraic Holy Day rooted in the harvest season.
The harvest is full of a variety of greens; kale, collard, mustard, mizuna mustard, turnips and beets. Everyone flocked, and continues to flock to our People’s Store to buy them. Tons of WhatsApp and Facebook messages have been sent to say how delicious they are! Someone even posted a video just showing the greens, their freshness and beautiful green color, expressing their anticipation to eat them! There is just joy and appreciation all around.
The future is bright as the greens keep rolling in. Ayleenatan’s daughters, Yahleetahl, Kavivyah, Armoneet, Ameetiyah and Zakiyah, are even cooking and freezing greens to preserve them for availability in the summer months. Planting is underway for summer crops of corn, eggplant, sweet watermelon and more!
It all began with the willing spirits of brothers manifesting their faith and convictions putting all in for “the Whole” and leading the work required to help feed a nation.
